Jen managed to snap pictures of Connor smiling today. He doesn’t do that to often here yet…he’s a very serious baby.
!
And a video Jen made using the camera her mom bought her, silly little thing is actually quite neat.

Gotta start cramming for my CCNA
99% of the people I mention this to don’t know what it is, but for Internet guys this is a pretty big deal. For me it will be a good chance to get some exposure, see new products, but also to attend some interesting discussions on new technology an try to take the CCNA test (which they’ve made much much harder lately from what I hear).
I consider myself lucky to be going. Some people in this company get to go every year and I think they just kind of get use to it, not realizing other groups could really benefit from it as well.
I will survive....well at least for 6 days 3 hours
The good news is that I was able to get the 5 day survivor achievement in Dead Rising finally. I had tried a couple of times but always ran into a disk read error at some point. Very frustrating, but the guy at the local gamestop was happy to swap my disk for another, and that pretty much solved that problem. An occasional DRE wasn’t a big deal when you can save, but while playing infinity mode you can’t save, so you can imagine how much that sucks.
So over the course of a few days, I’d work on it using this FAQ as a guide, and then just walk away to do other stuff. The only thing that really pissed me off was getting killed by Adam the Clown at 6 days 3 hours. Can somebody please explain to me how a dual chainsaw weilding psychotic clown can somehow block concentrated balls of plasma (megablaster)??!?!
God I hate you Adam, I hate you so much
Last week my new power supply arrived, that thing is massive. You could probably kill a man with it if you tried hard enough…of course with low/no noise power supplies there’s always more size due to the increased amount of aluminum used to dissipate the heat. But here take a look:
Barely fits in the case, but it’s certainly silent. Of course now that it’s in there, all I can hear is the Hard drive noise….sometimes you just can’t win.
I also have uploaded more baby pictures, of course.
Sunday was his two month birthday, and yesterday was his checkup. Pudgey little guy is up to 14 pounds and 7 oz’s. At this rate he’ll be nice and plump for thanksgiving….I mean he’ll be nice and healthy
- Check out this cuddlable NES somebody made:
My god, who has that much time?
- Are computer keyboards washable? The answer is maybe, but if your to the point where it’s an option perhaps you have nothing to loose.

Just a little video Jen shot
Of course that’s Connor and I showing off the stylish baby bjorn that Steve purchased as a baby gift for us. I tell you Connor loves that thing, we use it every day.
Pics for Donna
Welcome back home today, and since we don’t want to incur your wrath here are more baby pics. At the very least if you don’t like them I’m 70% sure I can outrun you
Wassup? How u doin’?
Could you grab me a beer while your up?
Thanks
And Jess, here’s those cute cat pictures. I forgot I hadn’t posted these yet
The first father's day is always the weirdest
It’s been a long couple of days, but it just seems surreal when the guy at the Costco check out wishes you a happy fathers day. Having lived my whole life not even thinking of this day, it seems suddenly odd to have it come back, and focused on me.
On the other hand, I did get a copy of Call of Duty 3 for the xbox….so maybe I need to just shut up and smile.
Jen snapped some cute pics
New power supply coming soon
A while back I had popped for a better heat sink for my computer, a Zalman 9500 to be exact. And pretty much thought it would be it for upgrades for this computer.
But after migrating my Dell into a whole new case to increase airflow it’s occurred to me why am I using the old PSU. The fan in it is not only super loud, but I’m sure it was spec’d out for a system in the original case (which was really restrictive). After a few hours in a room with this thing on it starts to feel like a space heater is going on. So I started looking into modifying the fan in it.
No matter what I tried, I couldn’t get a resistor to drop the speed down on the fan. It just wouldn’t spin up even with only 33 ohm’s on it. Probably because the fan was super cheap. So like all problems the next step is to throw money at it until it goes away. Enter the Antec Phantom 500….
The above picture links to a review of it by Dan of dansdata.com. So now I have to play the waiting game while it’s shipped here….which always seems to take forever. Then again it’s hard to complain to much since I was allowed to purchase it. It just so happens I’m sleeping with the girl who does the books around here
who knew Ikea carried lighting for children
We had looked at every thing for nightlights, or so we thought. So we had stopped by Ikea looking for a TV stand and some picture frames. While we were there though we found some of the coolest lights.
They even sell compact fluorescent bulbs for them….which I’ve never seen before.
We also found these super cool little nightlights….that are rechargeable and battery powered. We picked up the one in blue, but I so wanted to get the red and green one as well.
Check it out:
