I find myself listening to Tegan and Sara more and more…I pray I never see them on MTV.
Of course that would assume that MTV played music, and since that’s a long forgotten memory…no worries I guess.
So I’m having 3 cavities filled tomorrow. Kind of ironic actually since nothing hurt and I was only going to the dentist for the hell of it. I mean it has been about 4 years or so….I’m not big on doctors and stuff. But not that I’m getting older I guess I better get used to it. Check ups, physicals, regular bowel movements….is there no end to the monotony of adult life?

I find it odd though, that I just started having tooth pain in one of the teeth that’s gonna get violated tomorrow. Think they’ll mind if I show up drunk? I mean fuck….jesus I just don’t wanna do this. I mean I will, but damn…sucks to be me. I hate this crap.
Maybe they’ll let me play my game boy while they’re drilling holes in my head.
well, now if you’ll excuse me, I need to tuck my skirt in and man it up. I mean I had all 4 of my wisdom teeth pulled with just novocaine…no idea why i just don’t wanna do this.

So yesterday, we’re coming home from grocery shopping and notice a white truck “trolling” the street. It then slams on it’s brakes and reverses (almost into us) up to a house. Well I just figure there were delivering something and were lost.
So we go home, pull in the garage, and while we’re unloading the car I hear an engine behind me pulling into our driveway. Don’t pull into my freakin’ driveway unless i’m expecting you jackass. Then this guy pops out of the drivers side, and Jen’s says “i’m a vegetarian”….which is true. To which the guy reply’s “oh yeah, so are my cows”.
wtf mate?
He then gets back in the truck and drives away, leaving me begging the question. what type of moron buys meat from the back of a truck of a guy they’ve never seen before?

I really hate selling and buying used stuff online. See, here’s the problem. When I sell stuff online I go through all sorts of ungodly efforts to make sure I take detailed pictures, research prices, and when I ship it….let’s just say that I seriously doubt there is a better packer than I. I mean I literally have a basement section dedicated to shipping supplies. Foam, peanuts, inflatable air pockets, boxes, “good” tape.
Really, i’m not kidding.
I even always…always send stuff with delivery confirmation (USPS…basically a tracking code) just because. I pop the extra $.40 or whatever just to get peace of mind. That and so the other person can’t say they never got it and try to screw me.
I’m just sick of dealing with other people who don’t go through the same effort as I. For example I bought a used wire tracker (tone inducer…foxhound…whatever) via a site I visit often. It was listed as “mint” and “like new” condition. Well it just arrived today and I have to say how dissapointed I am.
1. It wasn’t even packed…it was taped to the bottom of an empty box…taped…not packing peanuts or even newspaper, but simply an X of shipping tape. Guess what? It didn’t fucking hold. How shocking is that.
2. It wasn’t “mint”. Mint would denote that it is as new as the day it was created, fresh as a fucking daisy. Dings, dents, burn marks, cracked plastic battery covers, and a compartment that doesn’t close does not mean “mint” in my book.
Now I have to complain. I hate complaining, at least to people’s faces. I’ve always wanted to pick up a tone injectore…and now here I am basking in a situation where something I’ve always wanted is tainted with annoyance. I should have just paid the extra fucking 10 bucks and bought the stupid thing new. That way I wouldn’t have to dick around with this stupid crap.
I’m just annoyed. I’ve got 50 thousand other things going on in my life more important than this, and I have to spend my time over something this unimportant. Maybe i’m cranky because it’s 5am and I’m up working….this sucks.

I had an enema earlier today. And by enema I mean Mexican food does not like me very much. It seems the more I enjoy the meal, the worse the consequences, where as if I don’t really enjoy it, then nothing happens. It’s a very cruel joke that I’m sure God finds quite funny.
God I need a new MP3 player…see one of the prerequisites I have for mowing the lawn is having music to listen to. For that end I have this old 64mb Yepp’ piece of junk that I got like 3 years ago w/ SBC DSL. It’s not even that the limited size bugs me, it only takes me an hour or so to mow the lawn, it’s the updating….the adding/removing of mp3′s is dog ass slow. Drives me nuts…but every time I think about getting a new one I just keep thinking that if I wait long enough the prices will just keep dropping. Especially since I only use it to mow the lawn….I mean the nice thing is that if I dropped it or mowed over it I wouldn’t care…but an Ipod? Dear lord you’d see me on my knees weeping like a little girl, holding the parts over my head yelling out “why god…WHYYYYYYYYY”.
Besides…I know if bought one Jen would steal it.

That’s kind of anticlimactic…I had hoped at least there was a better story behind it like she refused to help Chuck bury a dead hooker, or slept with the wife of the producer. Oh well…I still think she had a better presence than the new co-host…her voice is to soft, and doesn’t have any authority in it. Still wish they’d come out with a home version of the game…stupid, but addicting.

I sometimes wonder if there is such a thing as a single, redeemable person in this world at times. Btw, if you haven’t noticed I’m in a bad mood today.
All this latest worm crap (W32.Zotob.x, RBOT.CBQ, RBOT.CBR, etc) has really only served to futher irritate me. Although I found venting my anger towards my sister has served to calm me.
The lastest worm already has 5 different variations. All of which use port 445 to spread. SBC has been blocking port 445 from the router to the customer for the past 2 years on all dynamic customers. So thank god for that, at least it means the spreading was stopped. But now after all the FUD spread by CNN we’ve got 5000 deskchair system admin’s saying about how they’d of had this patch out already and how stupid large companies are for getting caught w/ their pants down. Since I spent most of my evening last night on conference calls regarding this and assessing the level of possible impact upon, let me share some opinions.
1. Updates. Great for end users, yes, they should be running them often. But for a large company, there’s no way they can roll out a critical update to 10k + users within a week. There’s no way to test that patch on every program and system that quickly.
2. Apple/*nix users. Just because your OS isn’t affected by this doesn’t mean that if it was as popular as WinXP that it wouldn’t be. Stop being stupid and bragging about how bullet proof OS X is, when it’s just security through obscurity.
3. Permissions. Some corporations deny users the ability to run windows update unless they have administrator rights. I myself am limited on the corporate network when I’m logged in as a user (thankfully I have admin rights because I requested them). So sometimes it isn’t the users fault, because they couldn’t run them if they wanted to.

Last saturday I was finally able to get the plastic bits under my car repaired/replaced that were damaged during my last oil change. But now that the engine shield is all repaired there’s a mystery leak (most probably from the valve gasket) that I need to track down because they haven’t been able to find it. I’m getting a little bit tired of being the only person in the world that can do stuff right. Keeps forcing me to learn new things in order to fix somebody elses mistakes.
While it was up on the lift I snapped some pics:

It’s not easy being this good….or modest…did I mention modest? Honestly I get a lot of help from friends and other kind souls who answer my questions.
This saturday was a hell of a day as well, we had a great group volunteer at the Food Bank. Really ran the hell out of me to keep them busy…of course it didn’t help that the power jack was broken and the other one went to another supervisor who was doing cans. They managed to save 3080lbs of paper product from getting just thrown out. They really did an amazing job considering the heat.
It’s really hard sometimes to get out of bed on a saturday morning, and get there before everyone else arrives. But at the end of the day, when you have a lot of people who are willing to not only give a great effort, but try to have fun doing it….you really can’t help but feel good. Like you’ve really achieved something. It’s groups like that, that have kept Jen and I going for the last 3 years.
…well that and I still want to drive the forklift

So a few weeks ago me and Jen watched the end of the second season of Amazing Race on GSN. I know it’s just as stupid reality tv show (although I think it’s the best one), but damn if the ending didn’t drive me nuts!
Spoilers***
Tara completely threw that last part. She just kept bellowing “will I can’t run” but somehow she had the breath to yell it out like 20 f**king times. Plus, if you were racing for a million bucks don’t you think you could possible dig down a bit and move your legs. Plus her hanging all over the other guy from the other team…damn, just pissed me off so much…
God I need a life Just had to get that off my shoulders. Found a great forum online that basically talks about the whole season.
